Rule #1

Select a hairstyle/cut that compliments your face and represents who you are to the world. You should have a cut or style that represents you on a day to day basis so your new clients can identify you right away!

Cut & Trim

Rule #2

Have your hair styled, cut or trimmed a few days before the Headshot so that your hair settles into place. This gives that NEW cut feel but adds in some natural growth.

Rule #3

Wash and moisturize your hair when having it styled. This helps your hair settle into place and will still be prepared for the day of the shoot. It will also leave your hair with healthy glow to it!

Hair Style Change

Rule #4

When you change
your hairstyle, update your Headshot. For a professional you want your image to be current and for a model/actor it shows you can carry multiple looks. People want to know what you look like now, so they know who you are when they walk through your doors

Preparing your Headshot Makeup

Light & Natural

Rule #1

Your makeup should be light and natural looking. Similar to your
style when heading to work Remember, you want your headshot to represent you. Sometimes the lighter the better, we want to see those eyes pop with color with your natural makeup look.

The Foundation

Rule #2

Your foundation should match your skin tone and should be used to enhance your skin. Try to limit the amount you apply, to much and your skin tones can come out discolored in your headshot.

Brows & Lashes

Rule #3

Your eyelashes should natural and not overdone. Its okay to have them done just leave some room for a fuller look. We all have eyebrows and lashes naturally, so we want to keep them as natural as possible for the full authentic you!

Mini Kit

Rule #4

Make sure to have a touch-up kit handy you never know when you need it. We want you to have everything you need just incase you smudge your look or have questions!

Preparing your Beard, Mustache & Nose Hair

Get them trimmed and styled to enhance your face, not hide it.
Get it done a few days before your headshot, so that the hair has time to settle into place.
We want you to have the beard that fits your style just a little
trimmed up to really showcase that you’re extra confident and care!

The same rules as the beard applies to mustache. Cut and styled a few days before so your mustache settles. You don’t want the mustache to be the center piece of the headshot. Its a staple to who you are and its major corner stone of your style.

Nose & Ear

Trim those nose and ear hairs so they are not front and center of the headshot shoot. So take care of that nose and don’t forget the ears too. These can be little things you sometime forget about in a rush, just remember its all about your head for the headshot.
